Hortex – packaging design for sea buckthorn tea and grilled vegetables

Hortex approached us with the idea of launching two new products, each with its own distinct selling point. We needed to convey these features through design and product photography so that consumers could immediately understand the taste, benefits, and consumption scenario.

GRILLED VEGETABLES. The product's distinctive feature is the industrial processing technology used to prepare vegetables: when cooked at home, the taste and aroma are the same as when grilled. To convey this advantage, we conducted a product-focused food shoot and created compositions in which the vegetables appear rich and appetizing, with natural grill marks. The food area is built around the idea of a "home grill"—maximum textures, light smoke, and the right lighting to create a sizzling effect. The visuals serve as a promise of taste: the customer sees on the packaging exactly the result they'll get in the pan.

SEA BUCKTHORN TEA. With the tea packaging, we also started with the product: it contains many berries, and the flavor is formed by a combination of sea buckthorn, red currant, and ginger. We emphasized the feeling of warmth, comfort, and shared enjoyment. Tea is "drinking together"—with family, with friends, when you want to warm up or share emotions. This scenario formed the basis for the photo shoot: shots with a cozy atmosphere, filled with berries, steam, and soft light. The packaging composition was warm, rich in textures, and as berry-like as possible, to enhance the sense of naturalness and rich flavor.

RESULT. In both tasks, we focused on an honest visual representation of the product—capturing what the customer would actually receive at home. Thanks to the food photography and thoughtful packaging composition, HORTEX gains a shelf advantage: appetizing, understandable, and emotionally engaging from the very first contact with the product.
