OSA – shape and design of mineral water packaging

Pioneer Emirates approached Brand Brothers to create the packaging and label design for its new OSA mineral water. The product is entering the Arab markets, where it competes with both local brands and major international players. The company needed to create a visual and tactile identity that would immediately convey the purity of the source and the premium nature of the water.

CONTEXT. OSA is a natural mineral water from a high-mountain spring in Turkey, which is covered in snow for five months of the year. This fact reflects the exceptional purity of the water and its unique mineral composition, suitable for daily consumption and maintaining the body's balance. For the target audience in the Middle East, two things are important:

1. Visual freshness and a feeling of lightness,
2. A sense of naturalness and high quality.

DESIGN STRATEGY. The brand's key metaphor is purity through the refraction of light in clear water. This idea formed the basis of the visual concept and united the bottle shape, label, and typography. We focused on minimalism, light, transparency, and graphic techniques that create a sense of depth – as if light were passing through clear, icy water.

PACKAGING STYLE. We developed a unique PET bottle shape that immediately conveys the brand's character:

- The diagonal transparent "window" is a key element that creates a light refraction effect and emphasizes the product's purity;
- The bottle's lightweight, elongated plastic makes it modern and easy to hold;
- The inclined geometry emphasizes the premium character and makes the product stand out on shelves where simpler shapes often dominate.

The shape and label work as a single system – the "window" continues throughout the identity, creating a cohesive brand image.

LABEL DESIGN. The label is built on the same principles – transparency, light, and purity:

- The diagonal transparent fragment continues from the bottle to the label, uniting the design and graphics;
- The typography supports the idea of light refraction: inclined axes, subtle dynamics, and clear spaces;
The color palette is minimalist—transparency, white, and accent shades that emphasize freshness.

Visually, the label has a light and aquatic appearance, which is especially important for the Middle Eastern market, where a cool feeling is prized.
